Welcome to our interactive weekday calendar. Here you'll find pertinent information about our courses. PLEASE NOTE: Registration is closed once the course has begun. We have provided registration or contact links (depending on the course) only on the START days of each course. All other dates simply indication the lessons within the courses for your scheduling convenience.

Our Basic Obedience/Good Manners Course is the Most Popular. The other courses are more advanced so they require you complete the Basic Obedience first.

BASIC OBEDIENCE
8-WEEK GROUP COURSE

Basic Obedience Classes start in January, March, May, July, and September. Classes meet once a week, for 8 weeks

  • Mostly Positive Training Methods: 

    • lots  of Praise, Petting, Toys, some Treats to Motivate, Encourage, and Reward desired behavior.                      

  • YOU and your DOG Will Learn:               **All the Basic Commands:              Walking politely on a leash, Sit. Down, Off, Come, Sit Stay, Down Stay, Leave It, and Heel.                                                  *Good Manners:
    - Waiting for your permission to eat, Go through doorways, Getting in & Out of car, Go to you Place, Meeting strangers, Meeting strange dogs, Greeting guests at the door, And Much More.                             .                          

  • Includes 
    The AKC STAR Puppy Program              For dogs in class under 1 yr. old.
    STAR stands for Socialization, Training, Activity, & Responsible Dog Ownership.
    If you pass your AKC STAR Puppy Test on the last day of class, 
    AKC will send you a Beautiful STAR Puppy Certificate.
    For you to frame and display on your wall.

ADVANCED FUNDAMENTALS
7-WEEK GROUP COURSE

  • Advanced Fundamentals Course is great for anyone who wants more attention and control from your dog. Highly recommended as the next step right after Basic Obedience.                       *Especially important to prepare you for success in your Canine Good Citizen, Therapy Dog, or Service Dog training.                                               .

  • Working on keeping your dog focused on you. No matter what distraction are going on around you. Your dog is always watching & listening to you. Your dog never knows when you are going to do something unpredictable. So they need to pay close attention to you.                          .                                                             With your dog's Undivided Attention, we work around distractions (loud noises, food, moving objects, other people, & animals). Enhancing your heeling (fast, slow, halt, forward, turns, & circles), long distance Stays, long distance Recalls, etc. .                                                             With this Course we are working with regular flat buckle collars and weening off treats.                                                          .

AKC RALLY OBEDIENCE
6-WEEK COURSE

In Rally, a dog and their handler move together through a course made up of 10-20 signs.

Each sign displays a skill to perform such as turns or behaviors like sit, down, or stay.   The dog and handler work together and should show a sense of teamwork and enthusiasm throughout the course.   

 

Rally is not only a great way to practice your obedience commands while having FUN, it is also an AKC Event.                                     As you & your dog learn to properly perform the individual sign skills, you are also preparing to enter Rally Obedience Trials. Earning AKC Titles & Ribbons.

 

Currently there are 5 Rally levels: Rally Novice, Rally Intermediate, Rally Advance, Rally Excellent, and Rally Master. For each level you must attain a qualifying score on 3 Rally courses or runs to earn your AKC Title & Ribbon.

*If you would rather Not travel to attend Rally Trials, you have the option of Victual Rally Obedience.

AKC CANINE GOOD CITIZEN
7-WEEK COURSE

AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) is all about having a well behaved dog out in public.

​

Many students take this course to:

* Earn AKC CGC Titles & Ribbons  * To have a Well Behaved dog in Public. 

   - Their dog is in the Work Place.

   - Their goal is Therapy Dog or Service Dog.
 

*This is a Fast Pace Course covering all 3 AKC Canine Good Citizen Levels and AKC CGC Tests.
   - AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) 2 lessons are at a training location/ CGC Test.
   - AKC Canine Good Citizen Community (CGCA) 2 lessons are in a store/ CGCA Test
   - AKC Canine Good Citizen Urban (CGCU) 3 lessons are downtown during rush hour traffic/ CGCU Test


*** To be Fully Prepared and Successful, BEFORE taking this Course you need to take the *Basic Obedience/Good Manners Course 
AND the *Advanced Fundamentals Course.

AKC TRICK DOG
6-WEEK COURSE

Trick Dog Training has become one of the most exciting new areas in dog training today.

 

AKC Trick Dog has 5 levels: Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, Performer, and Elite Performer.

For each level, AKC has supplied a Big list of tricks. (with each level the tricks get a little harder). The dog only needs to perform 10 tricks from the trick list to earn the AKC Title for that level.

 

*You Must have completed the Basic Obedience Course before taking the Tricks Course. 

 

Trick Dog Course is FUN!       A wonderful break and stress reliever for your dog. You know what they say about

"All work and no play" 

​

Tricks are Great for Therapy Dogs visiting nursing homes, hospitals, schools, homeless shelters, etc.  

 *When you complete our AKC Trick Dog Course you will leave with a least a couple new AKC Trick Dog Titles and Ribbons.

  • Therapy dogs are dogs who volunteer with their owners/handlers to help other people in settings such as schools, nursing homes, hospitals, funeral homes, homeless shelters, etc. 

​

  • Mentally, therapy dogs lift spirits, brighten days, bring laughter, curb loneliness, ease depression, and give hope

​

  • Many training courses are needed 

​

  • While we are NOT qualified to administer the test, we will help you prepare for it

    • Once prepared, you can choose your favorite Therapy Dog Group and schedule testing with them​

​

  • The Americans with Disabilities Act defines the term Service Dog as "dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform skills and tasks for their person with disabilities"

​

  • To prevent fraud, person must qualify for a service dog
